2018 Varsity Coaching Staff
Ron Stolski- Head Coach
Graduate of Patrick Henry High School where he captained the football and basketball teams. He received his BA degree from Macalester College and M.S. from St. Cloud State University. With a record of 383-170-5, Stolski begins his 57th year as a head coach, the last 44 in Brainerd. He is the winningest active coach in Minnesota history.
Honors include serving as past President and current Executive Director of the MN H.S. Football Coaches Association and being inducted into the Brainerd H.S. Hall of Fame 2005. In 2005 Coach Stolski was the recipient of the AFCA’s Power of Influence Award. The award is presented to only one high school coach in the nation, and is the highest honor presented to a high school coach by the American Football Coaches Association. In 2008, Coach Stolski was inducted into the Minnesota Football Coaches Hall of Fame. Chosen Viking Coach of the Year 2009. Chosen MN High School Coach of the Year 2010. MSHSL Hall of Fame 2018. Member of eight Halls of Fame.
Troy Nelson- Offensive Coordinator
One of several former Warrior players on the Warrior coaching staff, Troy earned his B.S. degree in Math from Moorhead State University and his M.S. in Education Leadership from Southwest Minnesota State University. Troy’s coaching experience includes one year stays at Moorhead and Litchfield. Troy will be in his 19th year with the Warriors and is the Offensive Coordinator. Troy is also the head Girl's Basketball coach at Brainerd. 2015 Bud Schmidt Award recipient.
Jason Freed- Defensive Coordinator
Graduate of Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn High School. Coach Freed attended and played football for Luther College. He coached at Houston High School, where he turned around a struggling program and led them to back to back State Tournament appearances, with the highlight of winning the 2008 9-man State title. Freed was named two time conference and section coach of the year, 2008 MN Vikings Coach of the Year, and he coached in the 2009 All-Star Game. Jason is in his 10th year with the Warriors.
Chet Stevenson- Offensive Line
Graduate of Princeton High School where he played for Coach Stolski and was an All-State player in football. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from the University of North Dakota. While at UND, he was captain and Most Valuable Offensive Lineman. Chet has 41 years of coaching experience with one at UND and 41 years at Brainerd. Coach Stevenson’s awards include: UND Tom Clifford Award, Butch Nash Assistant Coach of the Year Award, The Stephen Nunnink Assistant Coach CLC, Bud Schmidt Award and served as an All-Star coach. Chet has coached 11 All-Star offensive linemen that played at Brainerd. Coach Stevenson is inducted into MN Strength Coaches Hall of Fame as well as the Princeton and BHS Hall of Fames. Recently Stevenson coached Joe Haeg, All State offensive tackle and All-American at NDSU who was drafted by the Colts of the NFL.
Aron Anderson- Defensive Line
Coach Anderson received his B.A. degree from Gustavus Adolphus College in Physical Education, Health, Adaptive Physical Education and Special Education. Coach Anderson earned All Conference Honors as a Nose Guard while at Gustavus. Aron is in his 25th season with the Warriors. In addition to his coaching duties, Aron serves as the High School equipment manager. Recipient of the 2013 Bud Schmidt Award.
Scott Parsons- Inside Linebackers
Scott is in his 41st year on the Brainerd staff. Coach Parsons is graduate of Park Center High school where he was an outstanding linebacker for the Pirates. His undergraduate degree is from St. Cloud State University in Special Education and Psychology. While attending St. Cloud, he continued his football career as a linebacker for the Huskies. Scott has earned his reputation as one of the top linebackers coaches in the state, developing several all conference players. Was a 2009 recipient of the Butch Nash Assistant Coach of the Year Award. Member of the Brainerd High School Hall of Fame.
